Trends in telecommuting, the growth of the Internet and corporate downsizing have all led to an expansion of the virtual assistant profession. This online program helps students gain entrepreneurial and technological skills, as well as related knowledge in providing administrative services virtually from their home offices.
Students will learn how to create and market a viable home-based business and use their technological skills to provide office support services to for-profit businesses and not-for-profit agencies. Optional specializations will enable students to select from other major support areas including: automated accounting, web design and electronic spreadsheets.
Red Deer College’s Virtual Assistant Certificate graduates are prepared to operate an office services home-based business. Graduates may also transfer to Office Administration Online Collaborative diploma program.
